The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology-WAA authorized laboratory was constructed by the Technology and Standards Research Institute of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology. The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) was founded in 1957. It adheres to the development positioning of "a specialized think-tank for the government and an innovation and development platform for the industry" and has provided strong support for major strategy, plan, policy, test, and certification for the development of national ICT sector and the IT application, thus proving itself an important facilitator in the leapfrog development and innovation of China's information and communications sector. The Technology and Standards Research Institute of CAICT has been engaging in research on major technical issues and standards strategies in the fields of telecommunications, integration of informatization and industrialization, Internet, informatization, etc. It leads the top-level design of China's communication industry standard system, deeply engaging in the work of international standards organizations such as the WAA, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). It also builds platforms for major national technological and industrial trial and verification, develops new technology/new business/new equipment labs, and carries out application research and verification, forming a business system with decision-making support, technical standards, verification and testing and consulting services as its core. The laboratory has obtained CNAS and CMA testing qualifications, has comprehensive WLAN multi-mode conductive test and OTA test environments, and has ideal/noisy WLAN environments, channel simulation, terminal simulation and other testing capabilities.
