Notice on Solicitation of Outstanding Application Cases of WLAN Sensing in Smart Campus
To All Relevant Units:
In the era of rapid digital development, wireless communication technology has become a key link connecting people, devices, and objects, profoundly transforming our lives and society. Meanwhile, sensing technology, as a key enabler for acquiring environmental information and realizing intelligent interaction, is gaining increasing attention. WAA released a white paper on the Development and Applications of WLAN Sensing in Smart Campus in 2024, and the IEEE 802.11bf (WLAN Sensing) standard is about to be published in 2025. To accelerate innovative applications of WLAN Sensing technology in the field of smart campus, promote collaborative development of the industrial ecosystem, and summarize and share advanced experiences, WAA is now publicly soliciting "Outstanding Application Cases of WLAN Sensing in Smart Campus" globally. The details are as follows:
I. Objectives
1.Showcase global innovative application achievements of WLAN Sensing technology in smart campus, establishing industry benchmarks.
2.Explore the innovation potential of technology integration and assist in the digital transformation and high-quality development of campus.
3.Promote cross-regional and cross-domain technical exchanges and collaboration, and drive the formulation of standards and the implementation of scenarios.
II. Target Applicants and Cases
Construction and operation units, solution providers, equipment manufacturers, scientific research institutions, and relevant institutions of campus worldwide are all invited to submit applications. Application cases include but are not limited to the following directions:
· Architecture Design of WLAN Sensing : New networking solutions, sensing and communication coordination technologies, etc.
· Scenario-Based Application Innovations: Such as green energy conservation, conference management, intrusion detection, hotel management, etc.
· Large-Scale Deployment Practices: Cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and replicable and popularizable implementation experience.
III. Case Requirements
1.Authenticity: The case must have been actually deployed and achieved verifiable results.
2.Innovation: The technical approach, application mode, etc. should be innovative.
3.Demonstrativeness: It should have reference value for the industry and be able to promote the improvement of standards or the construction of the ecosystem.
4.Compliance: It should comply with the laws, regulations, and industrial policies of the country/region where it is located.
IV. Declaration Materials
1.Declaration Form (Annex 1): Including information such as the case name, applying unit, contact information, etc.
2.Case Report: Including background , application scenarios, technical solutions, and analysis of implementation effects(recommended within 500 words).
3.Supporting Documents: Test reports, user feedback, patents/papers, photos/videos of application scenarios, etc.
4.Confidentiality Statement (Mark it if it involves sensitive information).
V. Timeline
· Declaration Deadline: August 30th, 2025
· Preliminary Review: September 2025
· Final Review by Experts: September 2025
· Results Announcement: The H2 WAA Global Summit in 2025
VI. Privileges and Outreach
1.Selected cases will be included in the Compilation of Outstanding Application Cases of WLAN Sensing in Smart Campus of WAA and published globally.
2.Selected units can participate in WAA technical seminars, standard formulation, and industrial docking activities.
3.Excellent cases will be preferentially recommended on the official website of WAA, cooperative media, and international conference platforms.
