Call for Nominations of WAA Outstanding Innovation Projects

To all relevant organizations:

WLAN technologies have become deeply integrated into government services, healthcare, education, industrial internet, and other key sectors, serving as an essential foundation for the development of the digital economy. To promote the deep integration of WLAN technological innovation with standard implementation, fully leverage the advantages of WAA standards in security, compatibility, and efficiency, and build a collaborative innovation platform for the industry, the World WLAN Application Alliance (WAA) is now launching an open call for Outstanding Innovation Projects.

This initiative will bring together industry partners to highlight innovative applications that adopt WAA-certified equipment or comply with WAA technical standards, driving technological advancement, application upgrades, and ecosystem development, and strengthening the network foundation for high-quality digital economic growth.

The details are as follows:

I. Objectives of the Call

1. Brand Empowerment: Provide authoritative WAA endorsement for partners’ innovative practices to enhance market recognition.

2. Mutual Benefit: Enhance partners’ visibility through the WAA website and joint marketing activities while expanding the influence of the WAA certification brand.

3. Benchmark Establishment: Build high-quality WLAN demonstration sites to lead standard implementation.

II. Target Applicants

Enterprises, public institutions, research organizations, and social organizations engaged in WLAN-related technology development or application deployment.

III. Project Requirements

In addition to a recommendation from a WAA governing member or above, applicants must meet at least one of the following conditions:

1. Device Certification Category: The innovative scenario must utilize WAA-certified equipment, with the certified device(s) serving as a core component of the project.

2. Standard Implementation Category: The innovative scenario must implement WAA technical standards, with the equipment serving a core role.
(Note: For such projects, Applicants must accept an on-site evaluation by a WAA expert panel to verify implementation.)

IV. Application Materials

1. WAA Outstanding Innovation Project Application Form

2. Supporting Documents (Optional): Test reports, user evaluations, patents/papers, application scenario photos/videos, etc.

V. Timeline

The application deadline for the first batch of WAA Outstanding Innovation Projects is December 31, 2025. Subsequent projects will be consolidated on a quarterly basis, with evaluation activities organized accordingly.
